About the Author

Denny Dicke is devoted to helping athletes perform their best. He is an author, a motivational speaker, businessman, coach and former athlete. At Upper Arlington High School he was the starting running back on the football team which won two State Championships. He was also captain of the varsity basketball team. In his sophomore year he won the State Championship in the 400 meters. In his senior year he was State Champion in both the 400 and 200 meters. He became a high school All American by placing third in the nation in the 400 meters. Over 35 years later he still holds his high school’s record in the 200 and the 400 meters. At Rice University he focused on track and became conference champion in the 400 meters, was voted most valuable track athlete and achieved All American status. He trained for the Olympic Trials while attending graduate school at The University of Tennessee and completed his training with the Oregon Track Club in Eugene, Oregon. His personal bests in track were: 200 meters 21.5, 400 meters 46.3 (open) 45.5 (relay split), and 800 meters 1:47.9.

Because of his passion for sports and working with young people he found time to coach football, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball and track and field over the last thirty years.
